British Heart Foundation
BHF
The adopted charity for the Last Great Challenge is the UK's leading heart charity, the British Heart Foundation.
The objective of the BHF is to create an environment where people don't die prematurely from heart disease. The BHF aims to achieve this by investing in pioneering research into the causes and treatments of heart disease, supporting and caring for heart patients and providing vital information to help people reduce their own risk of dying prematurely from a heart or circulatory related illness.
We chose the British Heart Foundation because of their synergistic approach to disease prevention through increased activity and adopting a healthy lifestyle - something that the Last Great Challenge team whole heartedly believe in and promote at every opportunity.
As well as raising essential funds to help the BHF carry out its important work, John and Justin will be promoting the work of the charity, in particular by endorsing the 'get active' campaigns that the BHF offer to schools, local government and the corporate sector.
Watch the 'diary' page for more details of how John and Justin will be working with the BHF and how you, as a group or an individual, can get involved.
